It's revealed that Cunoesse was homeless before she turned up at Cuno's door and that she likely had lots of traumatic experiences that resulted in her becoming so disturbed. First we discover that Cuno is actually more laid-back and sensitive than he lets on, and that his aggression is something he does out of a need to protect Cunoesse from the mean streets of Martinaise.

If you pass the Empathy check, he reveals some sad and disturbing facts about himself and Cunoesse.
